He gave an example of how PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) worked closely with Kemenpora and other stakeholders to realize the 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season tournament last March-April.

“It requires intensive meeting and special attention before PSSI recommends a pre-season tournament with League 1 and 2 teams. That’s just what PSSI did with Kemenpora and other sides to make the Menpora Cup 2021 a reality,” said Yunus.

Nine Sport Inc. will hold a pre-season football tournament with participants from clubs such as RANS Cilegon FC, Persija and the Malaysian Super League team, Sabah FC.

The tournament, which is expected to be followed by 14 to 16 teams from the Indonesian League 1 and 2, starts in June 2021. The goal is for the competition to begin 10 days before the Indonesian League 1 for the 2021- 2022 season.

For international teams, in addition to Sabah FC, there are also European or Australian teams that are said to be in the middle of negotiations.
