The Polda metro made a U-turn for 64,612 travelers from May 6 to 13

Jakarta (medialnews) – Members of Polda Metro Jaya’s traffic management said they reversed 64,612 return vehicles during the eight-day Operation Ketupat Jaya 2021 or May 6-13.

“The total number of returned vehicles is 64,612,” said Polda Metro Jaya public relations manager Kombes Pol. Yusri Yunus in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

This figure is obtained from 21 isolation points and 23 checkpoints within the jurisdiction of the Traffic Directorate of the Jakarta Metro Police.

Motorcycles are the most inverted vehicles with a total of 47,627 vehicles.

At the same time, for passenger cars, there were 13,880 vehicles, 2,556 public cars and 549 freight transports.

The total number of vehicles inspected at the 44 stations was 131,218 vehicles.

Yusri also explained that his party also misrepresented a number of stowaways who attempted to pass through the blockade post on their way home.

“There are 17 illegal trips that we are returning,” Yusri said.

Polda Metro Jaya, along with Kodam Jaya and Pemprov DKI Jakarta, hosted a Return Home Blocking Activity as part of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2021.

The operation, which ran from May 6 to 17, 2021, follows central government policy prohibiting people from returning to their hometowns to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
