The Papua government is pushing for new legal products to support the implementation of PON XX

The province of Papua feels the need to bring a new legal product to the market

Jayapura (medialnews) – The Papua Provincial Government (Pemprov) is still pushing for a new legal product to support the smooth running of the XX Papua National Sports Week amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Acting Head of the Papua Sports and Youth Agency (Disorda) Alex Kapisa, in Jayapura via the regional website, said Friday that the two presidential instructions (Inpres) issued have no confirmation of the format for holding PON during the current COVID -19 pandemic.

That is why, according to Alex Kapisa, the province of Papua feels the need to initiate a new legal product, so that there is support (funding) from the center for the implementation of PON during the pandemic.

“That’s why we coordinated yesterday with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Secretariat of State and the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (Kemenko MPK) as the lead sector,” he also said.

Kadisorda Alex Kapisa hopes that with this new presidential brief, there will certainly be confirmation of central government budget support for Papua, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, another important aspect of the new presidential instruction, according to Alex, is that in the latest draft presidential instruction to be proposed, it will propose a maintenance and maintenance fee for PON Papua locations. “So if the government budget is used to maintain the PON site, there will be no problem because there is a legal product,” Alex Kapisa said again.

The cost of maintaining this site is budgeted annually in the APBD according to Papua Kadisorda, because once state resources are used in PON, once transferred to the regional government, it is directly the responsibility of its party for maintenance and maintenance. .

“And the money can be budgeted through the APBD,” he also said.

Previously, PB PON XX 2021 Papua had submitted a budget of Rp 1.6 trillion to the central government in preparation for the implementation of the national agenda scheduled for October 2-15, 2021.

The budget submitted to the center is because the Papua Provincial Government no longer provides budget support from the APBD to PB PON Papua, because it previously spent Rp2 trillion for the construction of stages, among other things.
