Toriq died at the age of 60. Until now, he has become a figure known as one of the founders of Tempo as the big medium as it is today, sincerely and without ever giving up.

Toriq first joined Tempo as a journalist after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) in 1984. He was subsequently appointed East Java Office Manager (1987-1989) and Chief from the Jakarta office (1992-1994) until the ban of Tempo.

In 1995, together with Yusril Djalinus (late) and a number of journalists, Toriq founded Tempo Interaktif which is now Tempo.co. In 2005, he was editor-in-chief of Koran Tempo.

A year later, in 2006 to be precise, Toriq ran Tempo magazine and became the director of PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk. Until then in 2017, the Surabaya-born man was appointed senior manager.

Toriq has attempted to strengthen Tempo’s model of convergence, both in print, online and television, to become a unit within the Tempo Media Group. One of his hobbies is playing table tennis.
