Task Force: Definitively end tourism in the red-orange zone

There is a potential crowd during the Eid return elimination period from May 6 to 17, 2021.

medialnews, JAKARTA – The Covid-19 working group reminded the public that the policy of closing tourist attractions in the red (high risk) and orange (medium risk) zones was taken for the benefit of the community it -even. This is to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19 in tourist sites which tend to generate large crowds.

However, tourist attractions located in the yellow zone (low risk) and the green zone (no case) may operate with a limit of 50 percent of maximum capacity. Covid-19 Management Task Force spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito explained that it was to minimize the risk of crowds during the Eid return elimination period from May 6 to 17. 2021.

Because during this period, people tended to visit public places with their families and relatives. “It is hoped that with this decision, community transmission during the homecoming elimination period can be further suppressed,” Wiku said in a press release on Wednesday (12/5).

Wiku said the government’s decision had solid reasons. Based on the development of the risk zoning map as of May 9, 2021, 12 districts / cities are included in the red zone. Among them, East Sumba and Lembata (NTT), Tabanan (Bali), Majalengka (West Java), Palembang (South Sumatra), Batanghari (Jambi), Pekanbaru and Rokan Hulu (Riau) and Fifty Cities and Agam (West Sumatra)) .

Meanwhile, there are 324 districts / cities in the orange zone in 6 provinces. Namely 29 regions in Central Java, 25 regions in West Java, 26 regions in East Java, 15 regions in North Sumatra, 16 regions in South Sumatra and 16 regions in West from Sumatra. “The number of regencies / cities in the orange zone is dominated by regencies / cities from the returning province,” he said.

Wiku asked the local government to pay attention to the development of this risk zoning map. Because in these provinces, the potential for generalized transmission can occur quickly.

Wiku also called on all of the regents and mayors mentioned above to immediately follow through on the central government’s decision to eliminate homecoming by forming regional regulations as well as regional regulations. “In order to become a solid base for the application of policies in each region. Hopefully by implementing this decision, as well as the elimination of homecoming, the transmission will be more controlled,” Wiku said.
