TANGSEL – A man who has a psychiatric disorder or who is called a person Mental disorders (ODGJ) went berserk while throwing a kelewang-type sharp weapon at Jalan Puspiptek, Setu, South Tangerang (Tangsel), Monday (05/10/2021).

Video of the incident was widely shared on social media. A number of people were seen chasing the man by throwing stones at him. However, the man became even more violent and fled until the locals and horsemen ran in a hurry.

Cisauk Police Chief AKP Fahad Hafidulhaq explained that the incident took place this afternoon around 3:30 p.m. WIB. The man with the initials EN (46), a resident of Mount Sindur, Bogor Regency.

“A resident of Mount Sindur, the incident this afternoon. The perpetrator was carrying a sharp weapon,” he said.

Fahad explained, EN already came with a kelewang. Then alongside Jalan Puspiptek, EN stopped a passing driver swinging the weapon he was carrying. Seeing this, several drivers aided by local residents and security attempted to stop EN.

“So when there was such a crowd, there were our members patrolling and then approaching the crowd. There the man who was involved has already been assaulted by residents, then our officers were demolished and secured. “, he explained.

Locals and annoyed motorists gave EN the raw bogem. Fortunately, the police immediately secured her. Then, EN was rushed to Tangsel City General Hospital to undergo treatment for the injury he sustained and at the same time have his psychiatric examination.

“We are bringing him to the hospital for examination. For legal status, we will wait for the results of the psychological examination by the expert,” Fahad said.

The EN family from Mount Sindur was summoned and questioned. Information was obtained that for 4 years EN suffered from mental disorders. He had done a similar thing some time ago, where EN had brought a kite from home.

“So, according to information from his family, the attacker had done the same, bringing the sajam back from his home. But at that point, the residents and their families managed to secure them,” he said. he continued.

So far, police have yet to receive a report indicating whether there have been any victims of the EN action along Jalan Puspiptek. The case itself is still being handled by the Cisauk Police Headquarters. “There have been no casualties injured in the meantime,” he said.
