Singo Edan appointed Eduardo Almeida as the new coach

Malang, East Java (medialnews) – Arema FC has appointed a Portuguese coach, Eduardo Filipe Arroja Almeida, to lead the Singo Edan team in the 2021 Liga 1 season.

Arema FC General Manager Ruddy Widodo said the former Semen Padang coach was scheduled to arrive in Indonesia during Eid. It is estimated that Eduardo will lead the inaugural training after the Lebaran 2021 holiday.

“Our wish is that he can lead Arema FC’s inaugural training after Eid,” Ruddy said on Tuesday in Malang City, East Java.

Ruddy explained, the management of Arema FC had sent Offer a letter to Eduardo Almeida a while ago. Eduardo has agreed to join the Singo Edan squad and has signed the letter.

Offer a letter itself is a letter stating a company’s interest in using someone’s services. If approved, further discussions will take place to sign the contract.

“We have sent offer letter and the person concerned has signed. But keep in mind offer letter this is not a contract, even if it contains some details that are also in the contract, ”said Ruddy.

Ruddy added that the process of recruiting new foreign trainers had to go through some complicated stages until the coaches finally arrived in Indonesia. First, the club must first determine the name of the coach to be appointed.

Then there is the delivery process offer letter, and management must wait for the intended coach to respond. When offer letter is returned with the coach’s signature, there is an agreement to join the team.

“After that, the club has to apply for a visa at the representative office of the coach’s home country in Indonesia. Later, before flying, the person must also undergo a cotton swab,” said Ruddy.

After arriving in Indonesia, the coach must first go through a period of isolation because there is currently a disease pandemic due to the spread of the corona virus. After his isolation, the trainer left for Malang City only after that and returned to isolate independently.

“There are long steps to be taken before the person arrives in Indonesia. Based on calculations, Eduardo can lead the inaugural training (after the Eid holiday),” Ruddy said.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Almeida admitted through his Instagram account that he was very happy with the offer to train Arema FC, which he called a big and challenging decision.

“I will do my best, wait for me in Malang, greetings to one soul,” said Eduardo.

Eduardo Almeida is not a new face to Indonesian football as the coach who holds the UEFA Pro License coached Semen Padang in the 2019/2020 season. Eduardo Almeida is planned to arrive in Indonesia on May 10, 2021.
