Rizki Juniansyah wins gold, sets world records in Tashkent


Jakarta (medialnews) – Young Indonesian athlete Rizki Juniansyah managed to erase three gold medals and break three junior world records at the 2021 World Junior Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Wednesday night WIB.

Rizki, who fell into the 73kg category, was entitled to three gold medals after producing a total force of 349kg, a breakout force of 155kg and a clean and jerk of 194kg , according to official IWF records.

The record reinforces the previous record set by American athlete Clarence Cummings Jr. in 2019 with a total force of 347 kg, a breakout force of 154 kg and a clean and jerk of 193 kg.

In the championship included in the qualifying series for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Rizki gently lifted the breakout force in three attempts, starting at 142kg, 146kg and 155kg.

He also found no significant obstacles when lifting clean and dry three times, starting at 180 kg, 189 kg and 194 kg.

The 17-year-old has a big lead over his competition, including Indian athlete Achinta Sheuli, silver medalist, with a total strength of 313 kg, and Russian bronze-winning athlete Gevorg Serobian with total strength. of 308 kg.

Meanwhile, another male athlete from Indonesia who competed in the same class, namely Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, failed to achieve the goal of breaking total strength above 335kg.

Rahmat Erwin was only able to achieve a total force of 331 kg, with details of a 143 kg snatch and a clean and jerk of 188 kg.
