medialnews, JAKARTA – The National Police ultimately decided not to continue processing the case of HL (23), a resident of Gerung District, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), who was arrested after creating provocative Palestinian content.
It is known that HL was eventually released after the National Police investigator considered resolving the case through deliberation or through restorative justice.
The head of Penum of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Pol Ahmad Ramadhan, explained why the police arrested HL in the case.

First, there were concerns that HL would become a victim of mob rampage.
“Besides the arrest of investigators or the police, of course, there is an effort to protect the person concerned from the anger of the locals. Of course, the arrest was made to secure the person concerned,” Ahmad said. at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Thursday (5/20/2021).

Further, Ahmad explained that the National Police considered the perpetrator because the content uploaded by HL went viral and angered the surrounding community.
On this basis, he said, police officers arrested HL in anticipation of conflicts between the people over HL downloads.
“The national police give priority to the protection of these people and to protection against incidents such as divisions between communities,” he said.
