Pupuk Kaltim distributed 1.7 million tonnes of fertilizer in the first quarter of 2021

As part of improving the well-being of farmers and increasing productivity, PKT introduced the Agro-Solution program

Jakarta (medialnews) – PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) distributed 1.7 million tonnes of fertilizer in the first quarter of 2021, or 904,913 tonnes of urea-based fertilizer, 55,761 tonnes of NPK and 751,685 tonnes ammonia.

A press release received in Jakarta on Tuesday said the fertilizer had been distributed to the company’s areas of responsibility in eight regions, namely East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi.

Until April 30, 2021, this subsidiary of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) distributed 320,077 tonnes of subsidized urea, coming from the award of the decree of the Minister of Agriculture in 2021 up to 994,781 (i.e. 32% achieved) and 60,728 tonnes of NPK subsidized from the allocation of the 2021 ministerial decree of 200,788 (i.e. 30% achieved).

In addition, until April 30, 2021, PKT also prepared stocks of 190,089 tonnes of subsidized urea and 75,226 tonnes of unsubsidized urea in the warehouses of lines II and III, as well as stocks of 7,265 tonnes of Subsidized NPK and 6,142 tonnes of non-subsidized NPK in warehouse lines II and III.

This effort is in line with the mission of the BUMN ministry to strengthen national food security and restore the national economy due to the pandemic.

The PCC has also deployed a number of recent innovations, such as food diversification to anticipate crises and provide an alternative diet to rice.

It also supports the development of food diversification by the Ministry of Agriculture which focuses on six local food sources of carbohydrates other than rice, namely cassava, maize, sago, banana, apple. of earth and sorghum.

Dietary diversification can also improve soil quality and reduce pests and diseases.

This effort is increasingly reinforced by the optimization of rice fields through model farming methods. integrated agriculture which integrates agriculture and livestock.

This model highlights concepts Zero waste by minimizing the use of exterior land and maximizing existing potential.

At the same time, as part of improving the well-being of farmers and increasing productivity, PKT introduced the Agro-Solution program.

Through this program, PKT provides intensive assistance to farmers and agricultural cultivation in a sustainable way, paying attention to the elements of society, environment and economy.

Currently, the Agro Solution program has been designated as a national program under Pupuk Indonesia.

PKT was given the task of developing the Agro Solution program in Bali, Gorontalo, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, NTB, NTT, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and North Sulawesi.

Until April 17, 2021, PKT Agro-Solution was implemented over an area of ​​4,697 hectares in different regions of Indonesia.

PKT aims that by 2021, Agro Solution can be implemented over an area of ​​12,000 hectares, both for rice, corn and other commodities.
