Persib qualified with Persija for the final in the Menpora Cup

Solo (medialnews) – Persib Bandung finally qualified for the final with Persija after a 1-1 draw against PSS Sleman on leg the second round of the Semifinals of the 2021 Menpora Cup at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, Monday (4/19) evening.

Persib qualified for the final after winning on aggregate against PSS Sleman leg first score 2-1 and leg these two drew 1-1, making the position 3-2.

Persib Bandung advancing to the final round will face Persija Jakarta. Previously, Persija eliminated PSM Makassar in the semi-finals via a 4-3 shootout.

Persib Bandung drew 1-1 against PSS Sleman, which was scored in the 83rd minute by Ezra Hard Ruud Walian, while the PSS goal was scored by Saddam Emiruddin Gaffar.

According to Persib Bandung coach Robert Rene Alberts, his team was happy to enter the Menpora Cup final after a 1-1 draw against PSS Sleman.

Robert said his team had not competed in a year. This of course affects the game itself.

“We have to understand,” said the Dutch coach after the game.

Robert continued, “Who will meet in the Menpora Cup final is not important to me. The important thing, however, is that the League 1 competition will be held again.”

Speaking of PSS Sleman, which had played 10 players but dared to attack more and score goals against Persib, he explained that every football match can be scored, regardless of the number of players.

He continued, however, Ezra Walian’s number 30 player was able to score a goal for Persib.

According to him, the last preparation against Persija was positive to qualify for the final round.

“We will continue to rebuild for Persib’s glory,” he said.
