Papua operations need assessment

VIVA – Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko sees the need for an assessment to address the problem of armed groups in Papua.

According to him, the death of BIN chief Daerah or Kabinda Papua, TNI I Brigadier General Gusti Putu Danny Nugraha, should be a boost, after a series of shootings that have also claimed victims of previous incidents.

This was said by Moeldoko when he held a coordination meeting for the development of the latest security situation in Papua in his office, Gedung Bina Graha Jakarta. A number of prominent intelligence officials attended this meeting.

“The operations in Papua need to be evaluated. Sometimes something is simple but it complicates the situation. Don’t get caught up in this situation, there must be changes and improvements,” Moeldoko said in his Monday 26 statement. April 2021.

On this occasion, Moeldoko also expressed his sincere condolences on the death of the one-star general of the Kopassus unit.
