National team for World Cup qualification 2022 starts TC May 1

Jakarta (medialnews) – PSSI stated that the training camp (TC) for the Indonesian national team in preparation for the continuation of the match in Group G for the 2022 World Cup qualification in the Asian zone will take place in Jakarta from May 1.

“God willing, the Indonesian national team will start with TC on May 1. PSSI announces the players who will participate in TC at the end of April following the final match of the 2021 Menpora Cup tournament,” said PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan . quoted on PSSI’s official website in Jakarta, Tuesday.

The Indonesian national team will face the last three matches in Group G of the 2022 World Cup qualifier for the Asian zone in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in June.

The fight of Garuda’s national team starts on Thursday, June 3 against Thailand, then on Monday, June 7 against Vietnam and Friday, June 11 against the host of the UAE.

PSSI hopes that the national team will have the best results in the three games even though Indonesia will certainly not qualify for the third round of the 2022 World Cup qualification in the Asian zone as they have always lost in the previous five games.

To achieve that goal, PSSI will send coach Shin Tae-yong’s squad to the UAE early so they can undergo TC and trials there.

Until this news was announced, PSSI had only confirmed the trial match against Afghanistan on May 25.

“We have just received confirmation of the trial against Afghanistan on May 25. PSSI is trying to get yet another test opponent there. We hope that with good preparation the Indonesian national team can achieve maximum results in three games against Thailand, Vietnam fan UAE., ” Concluded Iriawan.
