Merdeka Belajar 11: Mas Nadiem wants vocational training graduates to work directly and get decent wages

medialnews, JAKARTA – Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim has launched the 11th episode of Merdeka Belajar, “Free Vocational Campus”.

The two main axes of the Free Vocational Campus program are the Vocational Competitive Fund and the Vocational Matching Fund.

According to Nadiem, the vision of the Free Vocational Campus is the integration of professional higher education into the world of work in order to produce more competent, productive and competitive graduates.

“Our vision for vocational education is actually very simple, namely to make the integration between vocational higher education and the world of work tighter,” said Nadiem Makarim at the online launch on Tuesday. (25/5).

He explained that the government wanted vocational education graduates to work directly and get a living wage.

The first objective of the Merdeka Vocational Campus is to offer competitive funds for the opening of the Fast Track SMK-D2 program.

This program is based on the cooperation between vocational schools and vocational schools and the world of work to improve the qualifications of qualified and higher human resources in a shorter timeframe.

“It’s more efficient during the study period, which also saves costs. So this efficiency is what we want to emphasize, ”Nadiem said.
