Menparekraf optimistic in second half of 2021, RI tourism increases

SERANG, Bisniswisata.co.id: Menparekraf / Chairman of Baparekraf Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno predicts that the second half of 2021 may be the start of a renaissance in tourism and the creative economy. This sector is among the hardest hit and hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Sandiaga noted that this could be achieved under certain conditions, including the COVID-19 vaccination program. “If we can reduce the number of COVID-19, all provocations are strictly disciplined, so test tracing can be extended. This year we could start a revival, ”he said after opening a dialogue on the creative economy in Serang City on Tuesday (06/04/2021).

Ahead of the upcoming Ramadan and Lebaran, the Menparekraf reminded the Banten Provincial Government Tourism Board to prepare for the return of the traveling domestic tourists.

According to him, residents who generally move east, but because returning home is prohibited, they can move to western areas such as the Banten Coast. “Don’t let the creative economy be accused of being a new cluster. Tourism and the creative economy are the answers,” he said.

“The government will ensure that strict and disciplined provocations, tracing tests and the final treatment of our vaccinations are stepped up so that tourism and the creative economy become the locomotive to wake us up,” he said.

Sandiaga Uno expressed hope that all parties could reduce the rate of transmission of VOVID -19 through strict and disciplined health protocols. Apart from that, step 3T, i.e. test, tracing and treatment, and vaccinations must be continued to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are doing all of this so that tourism and the creative economy can be part of the locomotive to relaunch and restore our development agenda,” he said.
