Menparekraf: Indonesia deserves to be the international filming location

JAKARTA, Bisniswisata.co.id: The five super priority destinations are rich in culture and natural forces as movie shooting locations. Therefore Tourism and Creative Economy Minister / Head of Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said his party has reminded the global film industry to make films in Indonesia.

“I actively promote the country’s tourist destinations on the international scene. Especially in the five super priority destinations for filming, ”said Sandiaga Uno between the online exhibition“ Gayeng MSMEs Bank Indonesia 2021 ”.

According to him, the promotion as the objective of the release of films was carried out with the aim of stimulating the sector of the national creative economy, creating enthusiasm for the restoration of the national economy and the promotion of tourism in the country. “Movies create a lot of jobs,” he said.

“In Borobudur, for example, there are many tourist villages which are very attractive as film locations. Like in “Nepal Van Java” or Hamlet of Need, Kaliangkrik district, Magelang Regency in central Java, ”Sandiaga said.

Sandiaga said Kaliangkrik Hamlet has great eyesight. It is therefore suitable to be used as a filming location for films by international directors.

Previously, several international films made Indonesia the location for filming. One of them is “Eat, Pray, Love”, a 2010 film, starring Julia Roberts.

The film was shot in several locations in Bali. Namely Monkey Forest, Tegalalang Rice Terraces, Padang-Padang Beach and others. The film has proven to be an effective promotional tool for Bali tourism.

Not to mention that Sanfiaga also called on the Indonesian people to continue the success of the “Proud to Travel Indonesia” program and to support Gayeng MSMEs for export ”.

Gayeng Bank Indonesia UMKM 2021 exhibition “was organized by Bank Indonesia Central Representative Office in Java with the title” Gayeng Monco Negoro MSME 2021: Central Java Artisan Go International “. This exhibition brought together 52 MSME from Central Java who showcased various creative economy products.

This exhibition takes place in a hybrid way from two different places. Namely Paragon Mall Semarang, Central Java, which was attended by 28 UMKM players and Suntec City Mall, Singapore, which brought together 24 UMKM players.

Besides Sandiaga, this event was also attended by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo; Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Teten Masduki; The Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita; The Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryopratomo; and BI Deputy Governor Rosmaya Hadi.
