Jakarta (medialnews) – MotoGP organizers announced on Sunday that Swiss rider Jason Dupasquier, 19, had died in a serious accident in the previous day’s Italian Moto3 Grand Prix qualifying round.
Dupasquier was involved in collisions with a number of riders while advancing at Turn 9 and 10 of the Mugello Circuit, raising a red flag that delayed the session.
The FIM medics’ vehicle was immediately deployed at the scene of the accident to handle Dupasquier before the driver was flown to Careggi hospital in Florence.

On Sunday, the hospital finally announced Dupasquier’s death.
Dupasqueir got off to an impressive start to his second lightweight season, consistently finishing with points to be in the top ten of the standings.
“FIM, IRTA, MSMA and Dorna Sport would like to extend their heartfelt condolences to Dupasquier’s family, friends, team and loved ones,” reads the official MotoGP page.
