medialnews, JAKARTA – The World Customs Organization (WCO), supported by the Korea Customs Cooperation Fund, organized a regional workshop on data analysis that involves all WCO member countries in the Asia-Pacific region , including Indonesia, from March 30 to April 1, 2021.

This workshop reviewed the policies needed to support the use of data analytics in the Customs business process to facilitate policy development while improving business processes by maximizing available resources.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the WCO is maximizing the use of virtual meetings in the organization of workshops.

Mr. Taeil Kang (WCO Capacity Building Director) pointed out that analytical data can help customs administration tasks and functions, especially during the COVID 19 pandemic.

Mr. Norikazu KURAMOTO (Head of ROCB A / P), also hopes that the implementation of analytical data can support the implementation of supervision, the optimization of state revenues and facilitate the good flow of goods carried out. by customs.

During the workshop discussion, the WCO introduced the BACUDA project to all participants. To make the BACUDA project accessible to customs administrations, the WCO has prepared a virtual training course accessible on the WCO’s CLiKC platform!

The WCO also allowed workshop participants to share their experiences using data analysis systems, particularly in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Australia and Indonesia.

On this occasion, Indonesia, represented by the Director of Customs and Excise Information, Agus Sudarmadi, held a sharing session on customs and excise policies under the title “Implementation of the exploration of data on risk management related to import declarations “.
