Indonesian and Brazilian football in the eyes of Jaja

Jakarta (medialnews) – Madura United midfielder from Brazil, Hugo Gomes dos Santos Silva, ruled that there are fundamental differences in the way football is played in Indonesia and in his hometown.

“Football in Indonesia is more dependent on speed, loves to run and run,” said the player named Jaja on Madura United’s official website Thursday.

“In Brazil it is more frequent passes, it does not take long possession, it is more technical. Only 1-2 players have had the ball for a long time,” he said by comparison.

Aside from the differences on the field, the midfielder who played for Brazil at the 2015 World Cup U-20 admired the euphoria of the Indonesian football atmosphere, especially the way supporters appreciate professional players.

“I am happy here, many have asked for pictures when I met. This is a form of appreciation and euphoria of football in Indonesia, which is extraordinary,” concluded Jaja.

The 2021 Menpora Cup pre-season tournament was Jaja’s first appearance, not only in Indonesia, but also on the Asian continent.

Unfortunately, the player with the number 8 shirt has not been able to mark his debut in Indonesia with stylish statistics.

The 25-year-old failed to bring Laskar Sape Kerrab to the group stage, eventually becoming Group C’s caretaker with one win, one draw and two defeats.
