Indocement’s revenue increased to Rp400 billion in Q1 2021

Citeureup, Bogor (medialnews) – PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa recorded a 2.2% increase in net profit to Rp3400 billion in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year.

“Last year (net profit) was IDR 3.3 trillion due to a combination of higher sales volume, even though the sales price is stable and tends to be lower,” said the director and general secretary of Indocement, Antonius Marcos de Citeureup, Bogor, Monday (10/5)).

Indeed, the cement producer, the Tiga Roda brand, recorded an increase in its domestic sales of 3.7% to 4.1 million tons in the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 147,000 tons compared to the sales of the same period last year.

However, the cost of Indocement’s revenue in the first quarter of 2021 increased 1.7% from Rp 2.2 trillion to Rp 2.3 trillion.

“Due to increased sales volume offset by lower cost of goods per tonne due to continued improvements in efficiency, including increased use of alternative fuels and low calorie coal compared to the period last year, despite an increase in selling prices for coal in recent months, “says Antonius.

Thus, Indocement posted a net financial profit of 43.6%, down from Rp 67.7 billion in the first quarter of last year to Rp 38.2 billion this year, due to lower rates of interest that has continued since 2020.

Profit for the period also fell 12.3% to IDR 351.3 billion in the first quarter of 2021 from IDR 400.4 billion last year, mainly due to a decrease in net financial income.

Despite this, Antonius is optimistic that positive growth will continue in 2021. Indeed, national cement demand has grown positively since February 2021 and tends to strengthen in March.

In addition, his party also welcomes the instruction of the Ministry of Public Works of the Republic and Public Housing (PUPR) on the use of green cement (concrete) in other infrastructure and government projects.

“Indocement is certainly ready to produce and supply Green Cement products in the form of PCC products, Duracem-Slag Cement and also the latest type of cement, namely hydraulic cement which is as strong as the OPC cement known today. “, he mentioned.
