medialnews, JAKARTA – The Indonesian government has officially branded the armed criminal group (KKB) in Papua as terrorist.
The way to suppress these separatist groups is now different from the previous one.
Deputy police chief Inspector General Imam Sugianto said his party immediately discussed the follow-up to the government’s decision.
“I am also in the middle of a meeting at the Presidential Staff Office. Well, later we will find out what direction the police chief has taken, especially the involvement of the Densus 88 Anti-terrorism,” Imam said. upon confirmation, Thursday (29/4).
He also assured that if the KKB had been declared a terrorist, then the Densus 88 Anti-Terror had to be involved in the prosecution.
“If it’s been determined that way, Densus will have to be involved in the aid. At least the mapping, all kinds of things,” Imam said.
However, this has not happened yet, as the new government decided today.
“Not yet (Densus 88 is involved), it’s only today,” he added.
