Francisco Torres will soon be attending TC Borneo FC in Yogyakarta

Torres is no longer a foreign name for us, he will continue his performances in the 2020 season that were delayed this season

Jakarta (medialnews) – Francisco Wagsley Rodrigues de Sousa Filho aka Francisco Torres, a Brazilian player, is back for Borneo FC and will soon be attending the training camp (TC) held by Pesut Etam in Yogyakarta.

Club manager Farid Abubakar admitted that the negotiation process with Torres has not been difficult as Torres still has a strong desire to return to defend Pesut Etam’s flag.

“Torres is no longer a foreign name for us. His achievement in the 2020 season, which was postponed, he will continue this season. His desire is very high to bring Borneo to achieving achievements,” said Farid, quoted as saying on the club’s official website on Sunday.

Torres has scored 2 goals and 1 assist for Borneo FC last season from 3 matches in Liga 1.

Farid believes Torres will “tune in” to the club immediately and it won’t take long to adjust.

Besides being familiar with Indonesian football culture and Borneo FC Samarinda’s playing style, he said, also because most of the current squad consists of the same players as last season.

Borneo FC’s management is hoping that Torres’ presence for the second time can have an immediate impact on the front lines, as there has been a lack of sharpness up front since the team’s formation in February.

“This will add to our throbbing strength and adaptation will certainly not be difficult as a lot of old faces still dominate this season. Hopefully he will lead us to high performances, please,” concluded Farid.

Torres played for Borneo FC, but the 31-year-old decided to split up due to the uncertainty of Liga 1 2021 and accepted an offer to join Bangladesh club Abahani Limited Dhaka.

At the best flying club in Bangladesh, Torres played nine goals and two assists in fourteen games for half a season.

Borneo FC has scheduled a training camp for its players on May 23, 2021 in Yogyakarta for two weeks in preparation for the upcoming July 1 League.
