Encourages Silence Magic 120-97

Jakarta (medialnews) – DeMar DeRozan scored 19 points in just three quarters, while Dejounte Murray scored 17 points when the San Antonio Spurs silenced the host of the Orlando Magic 120-97 at the Amway Center, Orlando, Florida, Monday (Tuesday WIB).

San Antonio has scored its first two consecutive wins since winning three games in a row between March 15-19.

“We have to keep winning to close the season, we have to be aggressive for that,” said Spurs center Drew Eubanks, who scored 10 points plus 10 rebounds, according to the NBA website.

Before this match, the two teams formed a circle in the center of the field holding each other in their arms as a sign of their protest against the shooting of a black civilian named Daunte Wright by police in Minneapolis.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Magic coach Steve Clifford stood side by side hand in hand as the national anthem played.

Popovich called the shooting grossly disgusting and said “how often does it have to happen?”.

The Spurs, who defeated the Magic 104-77 on March 12, overcame a six-point deficit earlier in the game. They led 60-37 in the first half, down from 30 points in the third quarter, and never got below 20 points in the second half.

DeRozan made 7 of 11 pitches to lead a squad of Spurs with a throwing effectiveness of 51.6 percent.

Orlando suffered a sixth consecutive loss, losing for the 19th time in the last 23 games. R.J. Hampton led Orlando with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Wendell Carter Jr. Had 15 points and eight rebounds.
