BRI is Forbes’ most valuable state-owned enterprise in Indonesia

Jakarta (medialnews) – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) was named by Forbes 2021 in Global 2000: The World’s Largest Public Companies as one of Indonesia’s most valuable state-owned enterprises.

The BIS, ranked 362nd out of the 2,000 best state-owned companies in the world, is also included in the Forbes World Best Banks 2021 list, even though it is in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Forbes said there are six state-owned enterprises in Indonesia that are on the list and the BIS is ranked the highest. This awareness has also enabled the BIS to occupy the highest position for seven consecutive years.

BRI Director Sunarso in Jakarta said on Tuesday that this achievement was proof of the commitment to maintain sustainable performance with a focus on safeguarding micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and government partners. in the national economic recovery program (PEN).

The Global 2000: The World’s Largest Public Enterprises list comes from the FactSet Research system which selects the world’s 2000 largest public enterprises under four aspects, namely Sales, profit, assets and market value.

In terms of sales, the BIS is ranked 1,007 and profitability is at 529. Meanwhile, its assets are at 354 and the market value is 505.

The bank, which focuses on the MSME segment and coded BBRI, had revenues of around $ 10 billion, assets reaching $ 107.6 billion, and profit of $ 1.3 billion.

Overall, the companies included in the Forbes Global 2000 list saw a 47% increase in their market capitalization to US $ 79.8 trillion, with revenues down 6% to US $ 39.8 trillion. and profits down 24% to US $ 2.5 trillion.
