Anthony Davis scored 34 runs when the Lakers defeated host Suns

Jakarta (medialnews) – Anthony Davis picked up 34 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists as the Los Angeles Lakers took a 109-102 win over the hosts of the Phoenix Suns in the continuation of the NBA Western Conference on Tuesday local time (Wednesday WIB) play-offs.

LeBron James contributed 23 points and nine assists for the Lakers. In addition, Dennis Schroder from Los Angeles added 24 points and Andre Drummond scored 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Devin Booker had 31 points, then Deandre Ayton had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Suns.

Chris Paul scored six runs with two out of five three-pointer for Phoenix. But he still appears to be suffering from his right shoulder, which was injured during Sunday’s playoff opener (23/5).

Paul only played 23 minutes, while Cameron Payne played 33 minutes from the bench, collecting 19 points and seven assists, the highest on the team.

Furthermore, the third game in the best-of-seven series is scheduled for Thursday (5/27) in Los Angeles.

The Lakers’ performance in the second game was not much different from their performance in the first round of the 2020 playoffs. At that point, Los Angeles scored less than 100 points and lost in the first game to the Portland Trail Blazers.

But the Lakers were able to avenge the defeat in the second game. After that defeat, the Lakers continued to excel in subsequent games until they eventually won the NBA title.

The Lakers were leading 53-47 just before half-time. Los Angeles made only 42.6 percent of the shots in the first half, but took an 8-1 lead on offensive rebounds.

The Lakers led 79-72 in the fourth quarter before the Suns caught up. Phoenix turned 88-86 lead with 6:14 time remaining. It was their first advantage since they were 10-8 in the first quarter.

Leading 93-92 with 3:40 to go, the Lakers made a mistake, but still managed to turn their chances into attack by scoring the next seven runs. Five of them came from Davis, and Los Angeles led 100-92 with two minutes to go.

James sealed the win with a three-pointer with 49.8 seconds remaining to give the Lakers a 103-94 lead.
