MusicFESTIVAL The Sounds Project (TSP) announced that over 90 musicians will be present this year. Three of the artists are international musicians: Neck Deep (England), Secondhand Serenade (United States) and Jamie Miller (United States). Meanwhile, the list of Indonesian musicians will include several names: Baradasar, Radja, Feel Koplo, The Changcuters, Rain Parade and TRIAD.

In its 7th year, the TSP, which will take place on August 9-11, 2024 at Ecovention and Ecopark Ancol, North Jakarta, has the theme Discover Miracle. The festival, which was initially initiated by students of Gunadarma University and held at Rolling Stone Cafe, South Jakarta, can continue to grow its audience. From 2,500 viewers in 2015, TSP was attended by 76 thousand viewers last year.

“From the beginning, we had no expectations that this festival would ever become big. If we take a total of eight years, the total number of TSP visitors will be 197,977 people… Of course, we are aware that making this festival is not just about making something extraordinary. But it can grow and change every year,” said festival director Gerhana Banyu Biru of The Sounds Project during a press conference at Djavu Bar Lounge, South Jakarta, Tuesday (07/09/2024).

This year, the three-day festival will be divided into five stages in outdoor and indoor spaces. In order to facilitate the mobilization of spectators, TSP and the venue have added a new bridge to make access easier. The new bridge has a more sloping contour, making it easier for spectators to change locations.

“We are always improving and evaluating. Because we saw the mobility of the audience from one stage to another, a special bridge was made that was more inclined. The other bridge is a little bit uphill and can still be used for mobility. “Hopefully with the new inclined bridge, it can provide a fairer access for all target groups, including disabled friends,” added Gerhana, also called Gana.

Regarding the curation of performing musicians, Ghana added that this provides a more dominant part for Indonesian musicians. The musicians performing are not only big names and festival guests, but also new names.

In addition, the student movement that became the festival’s predecessor, TSP, still offers space for students to participate. Of the approximately 1,700 students who applied to be festival crew, 17 were selected and assigned to various departments, such as media relations, sales, sponsors, talent department and employee relations.
