NIRINA Zubir and Yoga Pratama star in Joko Anwar's series Nightmares and Daydreams, which will be released on Netflix on June 14, 2024. The two play a husband and wife living at Indonesia's largest integrated waste collection site (TPST), Bantargebang. They starred in the second episode, titled The Orpan.

Ipah (Nirina) and Iyos (Yoga) adopt an orphan who has the power to bring wealth in just six days. However, on the seventh day there is danger for the adopter.

“My role as Ipah and Yoga as Iyos, being in such a life is of course normal if the man wants to give happiness to his family. But sometimes the means justifies the means. But the point is that it is good because you want your family flourishes. If all means are justified, will you get happiness in the end? “That's actually contradictory,” said Nirina Zubir about the story of her episode in Nightmares and Daydreams during a media reception at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta.

Nirina and Yoga, who had to play against a backdrop of mountains of rubbish, also got a new experience. At first, Nirina thought it would be normal. But when it rains, the situation is different. The smell wafting from the mountains of waste became one of the memories of the filming process.

“We filmed in one of the largest polling stations in Indonesia. I imagine I could spend the night filming there, even if it rained. A mountain of waste, all for us. “When I first went there, I got goosebumps,” Yoga said.

“At first I thought: it's not bad. “But suddenly it rained and everything visible and invisible (smell) came out,” Nirina said.

“For the two of us who played the characters there, we really gained respect and thanks to those who were there for sorting our waste from all over Jakarta. “We are growing in respect and affection for the people there,” Nirina concluded. (P-5)
