British tennis star Katie Boulter was forced to withdraw on Tuesday (18/6) when she faced Anhelina Kalinina in the first round of the Birmingham Classic.

The 27-year-old tennis player had to take a midcal timeout in the first set before deciding to retire at the end of the set.

The world number 31 tennis player admitted he felt unwell after appearing in Nottingham.

“I must have had ten long days. But I wanted to participate here. But it turned out that I wasn't ready yet,” Boulter admitted.

“I already felt sick when I showed up in Nottingham, but I did my best to survive.”

“As a result, I could not perform optimally here and I had to resign,” he concluded. (Eurosport/Z-1)
